Padawans

Every one of you are considered to be Padawans. And I am your Master. What is a Padawan? And what does it
A Padawan do in their starting Jedi life? The Padawan (or learner) is a child or a grown adult, who starts a serious responsible practices of the Jedi, under the Knight or the Master. Taken by the Jedi Knight or Jedi Master him or her from the ranks of the younglings.

Padawans followed and aided their Masters everywhere, if not seen unfit by the master, from effortless responsibilities to risky missions, so that they learned from experience and personal direction. Padawans that belonged to species that grew hair on their heads typically grew a ponytail or braid telling their learner rank even if there were a little exception between species, even some humans. When a Padawan passed the 'trials', he or she was prominet to become a Knight, and his or her braid was slice off for the period of the knighting ritual. There was no set age when this happens: Padawans could even be adults, but for a Human, it more often than not occurred in the Padawan's early- or mid-twenties.

If a youngling was not chosen by any Jedi Knight to be his or her Padawan by thirteen years of age, the youngling was placed in another, lesser role in the Jedi Service Corps- a tradition discarded by the famous hero, Luke Skywalker, when he created the latest Jedi Order
